This one day course is all about how to manage pests and diseases in you honeybee colonies. Primarily focusing on the management of the varroa mite, we will discuss a variety of options to manage these destructive pests including;
organic vs. synthetic miticides
how to incorporate mite control into all of your management practices throughout the season
We will also discuss
Wax Moth and Small Hive Beetle
best practices to prevent the spread of common bacterial and fungal diseases
how to diagnose common brood diseases, and how to treat them
This course consists of classroom instruction and 2 sessions in the beeyard.
Course offered at the Cotton Factory in Hamilton, Ontario, from 10:00am to 4:30pm . Minimum of 5 participants, maximum of 12. Additional dates will be added as required.
